Three new City Direct bus services
Three new City Direct bus services start in January 2014
Three new City Direct bus services from the heartlands to the Central Business District (CBD) will begin operations from January 2014.
Service 652 from Ang Mo Kio to the CBD will begin on 6 January 2014.
On weekday mornings, it will ply Upper Thomson Road, Yio Chu Kang Road, Ang Mo Kio Avenues 3, 4, and 10 before taking the Central Expressway to the CBD, including Bras Basah Road and Shenton Way.
On weekday evenings, the service will run from Robinson Road back to Ang Mo Kio.
Service 653 will start its operation from Bukit Batok/Hillview from 13 January 2014.
It will ply Hume Avenue, Hillview Avenue, Bukit Batok East Avenue 2 and Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 before heading towards Robinson Road and Marina Boulevard via the Pan-Island Expressway and the Ayer Rajah Expressway.
In the evenings, the service will head back to Bukit Batok/Hillview.
Service 654 will start from 20 January 2014 from Sengkang.
It will ply Anchorvale Street, Compassvale Street and Rivervale Drive before heading towards Central Boulevard and Shenton Way via the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway and East Coast Parkway.
In the evenings, the service will bring commuters back to Sengkang.
Three other services will begin operations in February 2014 and will cover West Coast, Sembawang and Jurong East.
Details will be announced closer to the implementation dates.

New app turns your smartphone into a top up machine for EZ-Link cards
Land Transport Authority-owned EZ-Link has launched an app that turns your smartphone into a mobile machine that tops up the value of your EZ-link card.
Touted to be the world's first, the My EZ-Link Mobile app automates payment by charging to a user-designated Visa and MasterCard debit or credit card. Users must first enter personal and payment details into the app before they can tap their EZ-Link card on the smartphone to top up.
The app works only on smartphones that are near field communications (NFC) enabled. NFC is a wireless transmission technology that allows mobile payment.
With this, commuters need not visit ATMs or EZ-Link machines anymore. The smartphone payment option adds to existing fuss-free Giro and automatic stored-value reload options tied to the POSB ATM card and most credit cards.

Open house of stage one of the Downtown Line on Saturday
Members of the public can get a sneak preview of stage one of the Downtown Line (DTL) during an open house on Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
The 4.3km-long DTL1 will open on Dec 22 with six stations - Chinatown, Telok Ayer, Downtown, Bayfront, Promenade and Bugis. During the open house, visitors can take unlimited free rides along the line to view artworks at each station, and enjoy other activities and entertainment planned at four stations - Chinatown, Telok Ayer, Downtown, and Bugis.
The theme for the open house is "Music through the years". For instance, music videos from the eighties and nineties will be played at the Downtown station, while classic tunes from the sixties will be played at Chinatown. Grassroots organisations from the Moulmein-Kallang and Tanjong Pagar GRCs will also put up performances like samba drumming.

TransitLink launches app for Android and iOS
TransitLink launches app for Android and iOS
TransitLink has launched the TransitLink Mobile Services app for Android and iOS.
New e-services in the app include Customer Claim, Lost Concession Card Replacement, New Senior Citizen Concession Card Application, and Lost Concession Card Enquiry.
Commuters will be able to submit their claims and request to have their refunds credited to their accounts in 16 GIRO-participating banks through the Customer Claim function in the app.
Commuters can also choose to have their funds credited directly to their stored value card at any of TransitLink's Ticket Offices, Add Value Machines Plus, and Concession Card Replacement Officers by using their smartphones.
The Lost Concession Card Replacement function offers commuters the option of applying for a replacement card via their smartphones.
Senior citizens can also apply for their senior citizen concession cards through their smartphones using the mobile services app.
Concession cardholders can also find out if their lost concession cards have been found by using the mobile services app. Commuters can then decide whether to go ahead and apply for a replacement concession card.

从今天起，乘客如果发现他们乘搭地铁或巴士时，被扣除的车资不正确，可以使用地铁站或巴士站内的添值机领取车资退款，非常方便。
这个获得全面提升的添值机（Add Value Machine），易名为AVM+，上述是新机器增添或提升的5项功能之一。
公众之前得通过地铁或巴士站的售票处，提出车资退款要求，再到添值机索回退款。
全天运作的AVM+则可以让乘客直接完成退款程序。乘客可在被多扣车资的2天后，申请并立即领取退款，款项将直接退还到车资卡上。
乘客在发现扣除车资不正确的当天，也可马上到AVM+申请退款，但系统需较长时间才能完成审核程序，乘客过后才可索取退款。
通联公司（TransitLink）去年每天平均处理100起退款事件，最普遍的状况是：车资卡被扣两次钱、下车时没有触动阅卡器，以及扣除额外车资。AVM+相信能大大减少乘客在索取退款时，所需的时间。
AVM+保留原有的紫色外观，但上头将贴上白色的AVM+标签。用户界面也更为简洁易懂。新机器将取代现有的74台添值机。

为期1年的免费乘地铁计划，将从下周一（24日）起试行，经营南北与东西线的SMRT表示，必要时，将会增加早上尖峰时段之前的列车趟次，以鼓励更多人提早出门，缓解繁忙时段通往市区的客运量。
新捷运则表示，目前暂时未有计划增加东北线列车的趟次，公司会密切监督情况。
为分散早上尖峰时段的地铁人潮，政府从本月24日起，推出长达1年的免费乘车计划，周一至周五、早上7时45分之前，从市区16个地铁站出闸的乘客，可免付车资，估计总值约1000万元的车资将由政府承担。
在7时45分之前出闸，每趟可省下多达2元1角的车费，1个月下来，可节省40多元，但大部分受访乘客表示，不会调整出门时间，一来睡眠较重要，二来公司未实行灵活时间工作制，仍然规定员工9时报到。
早上7时45分至8时之间，从市区地铁站出闸的乘客，也可享有5角的车资折扣，有关费用将由SMRT承担。
16个指定地铁站是：海湾舫、百胜、武吉士、牛车水、政府大厦、克拉码头、多美歌、滨海中心、劳明达、滨海湾、乌节、欧南园、宝门廊、莱佛士坊、索美塞和丹戎巴葛。

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will embark on a one-year trial from 24 June, to provide free travel on the rail network for commuters who end their journey before 7.45am on weekdays at 16 designated MRT stations in the city area.
The objective of the trial is to encourage commuters who are able and willing to make changes to their travel schedule, to travel earlier into the city area before the peak hour.
The 16 designated stations are Bugis, Chinatown, City Hall, Clarke Quay, Dhoby Ghaut, Lavender, Orchard, Outram Park, Raffles Place, Somerset, Tanjong Pagar, Bayfront, Bras Basah, Esplanade, Marina Bay and Promenade.
According to LTA, the train journey must not begin at any of these 16 designated stations and free travel is not provided on public holidays.
In addition, commuters who exit at these stations between 7.45am and 8am will be given a discount of up to 50 cents off their train fare.
The Government will be funding this one-year trial to try to alleviate the morning peak hour crowding situation on trains in the short term, even as rail capacity is aggressively being increased through new lines, additional trains, as well as higher train frequencies in the longer term.
The free travel trial will be a significant enhancement to the existing SMRT Early Travel Discount scheme, which offers up to 50 cents discount for travel on SMRT lines into 14 SMRT stations in the city area before 7.45am. It will also entail a wider coverage compared to the current scheme as it will include SBST’s North East Line (NEL) and Sengkang and Punggol LRTs (SPLRT)
In order to cater to the expected shift in ridership, more train trips will be injected during the pre-peak morning period to provide additional capacity.
LTA is also exploring customised travel incentive pilot programmes for employees and students. This will support the efforts of employers and Institutes of Higher Learning that are prepared to put in place flexible arrangements for their employees and students to travel off-peak.

New bus service to link Choa Chu Kang to CBD
Residents in Choa Chu Kang will soon have a new bus service to the Central Business District (CBD).
A new parallel service, Service 982E, will begin operations from Monday, 18 March.
SMRT said the service will run during morning and evening peak hours on weekdays, excluding public holidays.
The transport operator added that the service offers commuters not only more convenience, but also gives them an alternative travel option on top of other bus services, the LRT, and the MRT.
This is the eighth bus service to be rolled out under the Land Transport Authority's Bus Service Enhancement Programme.
Service 982E will operate two one-way trips on weekday mornings at 7.40 am and 7.50 am from Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4, Choa Chu Kang Way, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1 and Teck Whye Avenue to areas within the CBD such as Anson Road, Robinson Road and Marina Boulevard.
On weekday evenings, two one-way trips at 6.15 pm and 6.30 pm will connect commuters from areas such as Central Boulevard and Shenton Way to the Choa Chu Kang neighbourhoods.

易通公司（EZ-Link）首次与信用卡公司美国运通（American Express）合作，推出名为Imagine Card的预付卡。
新卡每张售价$50，其中$40会存入美国运通的预付额里，$10是手续费。预付卡也能当成易通卡来用。
推出Imagine预付卡，主要是希望吸引17岁至25岁的年轻人申请。
预付卡没有任何年龄与收入限制，凡是可提供新加坡注册住址的人都可以申请这张卡，也可以为家人朋友申请。
有兴趣申请者，可到通联售票处询问，也能通过预付卡网址www.imaginecard.com.sg购买。

More incentives for MRT commuters on off-peak travels
To encourage more commuters to take up off-peak travel on MRT trains, an incentive given out as part of an INSINC study has been doubled from November 1.
Incentives for Singapore's Commuters (INSINC) is a web-based study comprising a reward system where commuters earn credits based on the start times of their trips at MRT stations and the distance of their journeys.
The maximum cash prize for INSINC participants has been doubled from $100 to $200, and can be transferred directly to participants' bank accounts, if they choose to. Previously, cash rewards were credited into participants' EZ-Link cards.
Since January, more than $320,000 have been paid out.
In addition, more credits per kilometre are being given to participants, depending on the number of off-peak trips they make. Participants can get up to six credits per kilometre. Previously, all participants earned three credits per trip.
Also, the number of participants in INSINC have more than doubled, from 17,000 in June to 41,000 to date.
The Land Transport Authority said it hopes the study can eventually cover up to 60,000 commuters.

In addition, more credits per kilometre are being given to participants, depending on the number of off-peak trips they make. Participants can get up to six credits per kilometre. Previously, all participants earned three credits per trip.
Also, the number of participants in INSINC have more than doubled, from 17,000 in June to 41,000 to date.
The Land Transport Authority said it hopes the study can eventually cover up to 60,000 commuters.

Bus, train services on Hari Raya Haji eve
Operating hours of bus, train services on Hari Raya Haji eve extended
SBS Transit will extend the operating hours of its bus and train services on the eve of Hari Raya Haji on October 25.
On the North East Line (NEL), the last train in the direction of HarbourFront will leave Punggol Station at 12.02am, Serangoon Station at 12.13am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.25am and Outram Park Station at 12.31am.
The last train towards Punggol will leave HarbourFront Station at 12.29am, Outram Park Station at 12.32am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.38am and Serangoon Station at 12.50am.
Services on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT systems will end later to coincide with the last train arrivals on NEL.
The last train on the Sengkang LRT will depart the Town Centre Station at 1.05am while the last train on the Punggol LRT will leave the Town Centre at 1.07am.
To complement the extension of the train operating hours, the last bus timings of 26 selected bus services will also be extended - Nos. 51A, 60A, 63M, 181, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 240, 241, 243G, 261, 269, 282, 291, 292, 293, 315, 325, 333, 334, 358, 359 and 410W.

上网登记易通卡 弄丢不怕被盗用
易通公司已从7月开始，推出名为“Activate!”的免费计划。易通卡持有人只需上网或通过智能手机登记，提供个人资料及易通卡编号，就能在易通卡遗失后，通过电话，要求将车资卡报废，以及将剩余的储值，转入其他车资卡内，防止他人盗用。
易通卡持有人须填报的个人资料包括身份证号码、电话联络号码、出生日期，以便让公司证实举报人身份后，将失卡剩余储值归还给持卡人。
目前，市面上流通的易通卡超过1000万张，每日使用量大约250万张，其中，用以支付车资者占总交易量的60％，其余则属于零售交易性质。
每月遗失的易通卡上千张。
遭盗用可享最高10元赔偿
在新计划下，持卡人最多只能登记3张易通卡，而且这项服务只限于易通公司发行的成人易通卡，并不包括由陆路交通管理局发行的优惠车资卡。
接获持卡人报失后，遗失的车资卡会在48小时内失效，剩余储值会在21天内，转入报失持卡人名下的其他车资卡。
万一车资卡报失后来不及封锁就遭人盗用，持卡人可享有特别保障，获得最高10元的赔偿。持卡人在每个保单年度中只能索赔1次。
